Digital Services Act (DSA)
Last updated: 17 May 2025
Shiplist is a hosting service as defined by the EU Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065). This page explains our obligations and how you can report illegal content hosted on our platform.
1. Points of Contact
In accordance with Articles 11 and 12 of the DSA, Shiplist designates the following single point of contact for all DSA-related communications — available to users, authorities, and the European Commission:
- Email: legal@shiplist.eu
- Language: English and Slovenian
This contact address may be used by EU member state authorities and the European Commission to contact Shiplist directly regarding DSA matters.
2. Prohibited and Illegal Content
Shiplist prohibits the upload, storage, or sharing of any content that is illegal under applicable EU or member state law. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights (e.g. stolen assets)
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
- Content that incites hatred, violence, or discrimination
- Content used to facilitate fraud, phishing, or other criminal activity
- Any other content that violates applicable law
Violations of this prohibition may result in immediate content removal and account suspension or termination.
3. Reporting Illegal Content (Article 16 — Notice and Action)
If you believe content hosted on Shiplist is illegal, you can submit a notice by emailing legal@shiplist.eu with the subject line "DSA Illegal Content Report". Your notice must include:
- URL or location — the exact URL or sufficient description to locate the content on Shiplist.
- Reason — a clear explanation of why you believe the content is illegal, including the specific law or right you believe is being violated.
- Your name — the full name of the individual or organisation submitting the notice.
Notices submitted in good faith will be reviewed promptly. We will act on valid notices and communicate the outcome to you.
Submitting a knowingly false or misleading notice is itself a violation of the DSA and our Terms of Use.
4. Statement of Reasons (Article 17)
When Shiplist takes action on reported content — such as removing a file, restricting access, or suspending an account — we will notify the affected user by email. This notification will explain:
- What action was taken and which content it applies to
- The legal or policy basis for the action
- Whether the action was triggered by a user report or Shiplist's own detection
- How the affected user may contest the decision
We do not remove or restrict content silently. Affected users will always receive a statement of reasons by email at the address associated with their account.
5. Appeals and Redress
If you believe an action taken against your account or content was incorrect, you may contest it by replying to the notification email or writing to legal@shiplist.eu. We will review your appeal and respond within 14 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant national Digital Services Coordinator or seek judicial redress in accordance with the DSA.
